Insurance Coverage and Defense Litigation
Insurance coverage defense involves contract law, careful reading and research, common sense and thorough analysis. Our insurance coverage professionals utilize these disciplines with each case we defend. We provide services ranging from coverage opinions to the litigation of statutory and common law bad faith claims and declaratory judgment actions, including appeals and real estate title insurance. While each case is decided upon its own facts and merits, and we cannot imply that our past successes will result in winning a case, we have successfully litigated coverage issues of first impression in the Connecticut Supreme Court, including a favorable finding that alleged emotional harm is not “bodily injury.” We have prosecuted and defended declaratory judgment actions and actions under Connecticut's direct action statute in both the state and federal courts, as well as in arbitrations, mediations and other alternative dispute resolution forums.
