Gerald Giaimo is a Shareholder of the Firm in the New Haven office. His approach to achieving successful outcomes for his clients begins with securing a meaningful understanding of their goals, values, and priorities. For him, the path to reaching that understanding rests upon candor, attention to details, and earnest dialogue. These are the fundamental principles behind his client relationships, whether their needs require analysis of a corporation’s policies and procedures, mapping out a creative solution to a legal dispute, or collaborating on trial strategy.

Gerry has served clients who range from large, national corporations, to individuals, with a focus on the following types of matters:

  • complex commercial and corporate litigation,
  • employment law,
  • professional malpractice defense,
  • bodily injury claims,
  • product liability,
  • insurance coverage analysis, and
  • felony and misdemeanor criminal defense.

In addition to litigating matters in both state and federal courts, Gerry has also been appointed by courts to serve as a Special Master for discovery disputes.

Throughout his career, Gerry has also dedicated time to serving the bar and the community at large, and he has held numerous leadership positions in the American and Connecticut Bar Associations. He has served as Secretary of the Connecticut Bar Association, Chair of the Connecticut Bar Association’s Young Lawyer Section, and he is a former Officer of the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section. In 2007, Connecticut’s Chief Administrative Judge appointed Gerry to the Attorney Assistance Advisory Committee which formed and oversees the non-profit, Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers (providing mental health and addiction referrals for members of the bar).

Gerry was included in the 2023 edition of The Best Lawyers in America® for Commercial Litigation, and has been recognized by Super Lawyers® in the areas of Civil Litigation: Plaintiff; Employment Litigation: Defense; Personal Injury – General: Plaintiff; Business Litigation; and Criminal Defense. He has received the New Leader in the Law award from the Connecticut Law Tribune, and was also recognized by the Connecticut Business Times with their “Forty Under Forty” award.

Outside of the office, Gerry can be found performing as a professional guitarist, amateur hockey player, and dedicated wine and food lover.
