Attorney Evan Goldstein was awarded at Connecticut Bar Association

New Haven, CT - On May 13, 2024, Attorney Evan Goldstein, Partner at Updike, Kelly & Spellacy, P.C. was awarded the Connecticut Bar Association, Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section Service to the Profession Award. Evan has undertaken significant efforts to develop and implement educational programs, pro bono policies and public service initiatives, which elevate the profile of the profession, while also promoting the general public good. Specifically, Evan has helped to create and support (i) the Robert L. Krechevsky Pro Bono Fund that was established to help indigent filers with costs and expenses necessary to fund litigation; (ii) CBA Future of the Legal Profession Scholars Program that provides a full scholarship for an LSAT preparation course and mentoring support to aspiring Connecticut-area, first generation law students who have demonstrated a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion or who have overcome adversity in their pursuit of a future career in the law; (iii) volunteered and presented at Financial Literacy Programs at Buckley High School and New Britain High School; (iv) helped prepare and coach Wilbur Cross high school students for the We the People National Finals competition in Washington, D.C. where the students participated in simulated Congressional hearings and testified as Constitutional experts before panels of judges; and (v) created a pipeline program for middle school students at Covenant Preparatory School in Hartford and high school students at Wilbur Cross in New Haven to give the students an opportunity to learn about jury trials, voir dire and steps necessary to attend law school.
