Disclosure Misconduct Eyed by SEC

UKS Shareholder Michael P. Botelho was recently quoted in the January 3, 2022 issue of The Bond Buyer as part of an article entitled “Disclosure Misconduct Eyed by SEC.” Attorney Botelho offered his perspective on the SEC’s enforcement actions in 2021 including increased scrutiny of municipal advisers seen acting in a manner which serves their own financial interests to the detriment of their municipal issuer clients. Attorney Botelho is Chairman of the firm’s Public Finance Practice Group and represents municipal issuers, purchasers, borrowers, underwriters and trustees in various tax-exempt finance transactions.
