Christopher L. Brigham | CAIS Business & Operations Conference 2020

On Friday, October 23, 2020, UKS Attorney Christopher L. Brigham will be a guest speaker at the Connecticut Association of Independent School’s (CAIS) Annual Conference on Business & Operations. Attorney Brigham will discuss recent changes in federal laws that are significantly impacting school employers in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The presentation will explore the paid sick leave and expanded family and medical leave provisions under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act and how employers should handle requests for time off and requests for reasonable accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Attorney Brigham will also discuss the COVID-19 related unemployment benefits still available to Connecticut employees through the Federal Unemployment Assistance program and the issues that arise from these expanded benefits.
