Andrew L. Houlding | Human Resource Law from Start to Finish
UKS Attorney Andrew L. Houlding will be speaking on current Developments in Employment Law and Successful Hiring and Recruitment Steps at a seminar, presented by the National Business Institute, entitled "Human Resource Law from Start to Finish" being held from 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. on 8/14/2019 at the Courtyard Waterbury Downtown, 63 Grand Street, Waterbury. In addition to developments in employment law and successful hiring and recruitment, the seminar will address employee handbooks, wage and benefit issues, alternative dispute resolution, unemployment compensation costs, workplace behavior and privacy, disciplining and discharging employees and proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board. The seminar is recommended for attorneys, human resources personnel, accountants and corporate officers.
In his employment practice with UKS, Mr. Houlding represents employers in defense of wrongful discharge and discrimination claims, practicing in both federal and state court. Mr. Houlding also represents and counsels clients on matters before the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunities Commission, the U.S. Department of Labor, the National Labor Relations Board and the state Board of Mediation and Arbitration. Of particular note, he has experience in negotiating labor contracts and in handling labor grievances and arbitrations. Additionally, he has negotiated individual and collective employment contracts and separation agreements between companies and executives, litigated non-compete and other restrictive employment covenants, and conducted investigations on behalf of public and private entities.
