CONNECTICUT EXTENDS RESIDENTIAL EVICTION MORATORIUM
On September 30, 2020, Governor Lamont executed Executive Order No. 9E extending Connecticut’s moratorium on residential evictions through January 1, 2021. The Executive Order includes a new exception to the moratorium for “serious nonpayment of rent.” If a tenant accrues a rent arrearage equal to or greater than six months’ worth of rent, the landlord may now proceed to commence an eviction.
