Melanie A. Orphanos is an associate in the Firm's Litigation Department practicing in the areas of employment law, healthcare, professional liability, insurance defense, product liability, and construction.  Ms. Orphanos represents clients before the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities and the Connecticut Unemployment Compensation Committee.  

While attending law school, Ms. Orphanos was the Interscholastic Director of the Connecticut Moot Court Board and competed in numerous national moot court competitions. During law school, Ms. Orphanos was a certified legal extern at the Hartford State's Attorney's Office and a judicial extern for the Honorable Dominic J. Squatrito of the United States District Court, District of Connecticut. Ms. Orphanos was a Notes & Comments Editor of the Connecticut Insurance Law Journal, in which she published a note on the insurance implications of the NHL and NFL concussion class actions. Ms. Orphanos also served as the University of Connecticut Law School Liaison to the Connecticut Bar Association's Young Lawyers Section.

 

Ms. Orphanos received her J.D., with honors, from the University of Connecticut School of Law. She received her B.A. from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut.
